Points of Benefit regarding the Names and Attributes of Allaah

Points of Benefit from Today’s Mpubs Tele-Lecture : ”Whoever Turns Their Back on The Religion Allah Will Replace Them With Whom He Loves and They Love Him” by Shaykh Salaah Kentush, Translated by: Our Brother Abu Yusuf Khaleefah

Some think it is sufficient to simply mention the Names of Allah in du’aa but we must also act in accordance to what is connected to those Names

Eg. Allah is As-Samee’ (The All Hearing) therefore the servant knows that Allah hears everything

He must make the Names have meaning and purpose in his life so he strives to keep away from backbiting, spreading tales, lying etc…

Because he knows Allah hears him wherever he may be, in the night or day, he stays away from whatever will anger Allah

If someone wants to say something indecent or lie, he remembers that Allah hears him so he refrains from such things

We must look at this matter of the effects of the Names of Allah, and the impact it has on our lives

If we keep this in mind it will be of great benefit. How many fall into bad language etc &do not keep in mind that Allah hears what they say

If we keep this in mind it will be of great benefit. How many fall into bad language etc &do not keep in mind that Allah hears what they say

We must keep this in mind, that Allah sees us because it will deter us from doing evil

Perhaps a person will say he does believe this (Allah is Al Baseer) but he still falls into acts of indecency…

The reason: he does not keep Allah in mind at these times. That Allah is Al-Baseer, As-Samee’…

There are people who are afraid to do crime for fear of being apprehended by law enforcement…

How could it be that they are afraid of them yet they do not have this type of fear for Allah, when Allah sees and knows everything

From the greatest matters we must be mindful of is that Allah is Al-Aleem – He knows All of the affairs…

He Knows what is in the heart, if it is upon sincerity or shirk.

Outwardly one may display what is good but what is in the heart is not so he falls into things that is not befitting due to his heart

When a person wants to disobey Allah he knows Allah can take him to account for this disobedience…

When a person wants to disobey Allah he knows Allah can take him to account for this disobedience…

Allah has the ability to stop the heart from beating…

A Jahmiyah belief taught to some amongst Ahlus Sunnah – Shaykh Uthaymeen

Shaykh Uthaymeen may Allah have mercy upon him said in his explanation of Soorah Al Kahf:

‘And your Lord treats no one with injustice’ (Soorah Al Kahf 18:49)

Tayyib, your Lord treats no one with injustice.  We say: this is due to the perfection of His justice. But the Jahmiyah say: He does not oppress because it is inconceivable for Him to oppress. Not that He is able to oppress but He doesn’t rather they say it is inconceivable for Him to oppress. How is this? They say: ‘because everything is the creation of Allah, it all belongs to Allah. Thus because they all belong to Allah, if He punished the doer of good then He has punished what He owns. So there is no oppression. He can do with His creation what He wills. But this statement of theirs is false.

This is because Allah the Exalted has promised the doers of good a reward and the doers of evil a punishment. Then if the person does righteous actions and he is punished, and the sinner commits evil and is rewarded, then the least which can be said—and Allah is far above this—is that He broke His promise. This is the least which can be said. And no doubt this negates justice and truthfulness.

We say to them: Verily Allah the Exalted said in a hadith Qudsi:

يا عبادي إني حرَّمت الظلم على نفسي
O My slaves verily I have made oppression unlawful for Myself.

And this proves He has the ability to do so, but He prohibited it from Himself due to His complete justice. Thus we say Allah does not oppress anyone due to the completeness of His justice, not because oppression is not possible as it relates to Him; as the Jahmiyah say.

Shaykh Rabee: Refutation of those who deny Allaah’s Highness

Shaykh Rabee’ said, in refutation of those who deny Allaah’s Highness by saying that He is everywhere (and the refuge is with Allaah) :

They say: Allaah is everywhere; and they are not shy about saying it. This has dragged them to Wahdatul-Wujood (the concept of unity in existence). The statement that He is everywhere means that He is incarnate within everything from the creation, High Exalted be Allaah above that. They claim that they are absolving Allaah (from imperfections) but they have fallen–and the refuge is with Allaah-into the evilest and most despicable of beliefs. They, in fact, absolve Allaah from being in a state of Highness, and being above all of His creation and over the Throne and they placed Him in EVERY PLACE! By Allaah, if a king were upon a throne and you were to say to him: This place is not befitting, its not good (for you). Get down! Get down, O king. Get beneath the feet of the people! Indeed this would be belittlement of him. So what about Allaah, the Lord of all that exists?! Greatly Exalted be Allaah above what the wrongdoers say.

‘Aqeedah Benefit: Tamtheel and Tashbeeh – Shaykh Muhammad ibn Saalih Al-‘Uthaymeen

Question:

Noble Shaykh, may Allaah treat you well; is it permissible for a person, regarding the statement of Allaah, the Exalted:

وَمَا قَدَرُوا اللَّهَ حَقَّ قَدْرِهِ وَالْأَرْضُ جَمِيعًا قَبْضَتُهُ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ
They made not a just estimate of Allaah such as is due to Him. And on the Day of Resurrection the whole of the earth will be grasped by His Hand. (Az-Zumar 39:67)

Is it permissible for one who clench his fist (in demonstration—i.e., when reciting this)?

Answer:

He who clenches his fist in front of the people, then this is Tamtheel (Anthropomorphism) and Tashbeeh (likening Allaah to his creation is some of His Attributes). It is not permissible a person to do anything which denotes Tashbeeh and Tamtheel; especially in front of the people. Moreover, he has lied! Does he know that Allaah will grasp the earth in this manner with which he has clenched (his fist)? Maybe He will grasp it in another manner. Because grasping is different, even amongst the people. Due to this, one should not do that.

Perhaps one will say: When the Messenger, upon him be prayers and peace, recited:

إِنَّ اللّهَ كَانَ سَمِيعًا بَصِيرًا
Truly, Allaah is Ever All-Hearer, All-Seer. (An-Nisa 4:58)

That he placed his fingers upon his eyes and ears; then we say: This has come within the Sunnah and it is the truth. The Prophet, upon him be prayers and peace, wanted to emphasize these two Attributes—Hearing and Seeing—by mentioning their places in the children of Adam (i.e., the place of hearing and seeing). As for reporting the “howness” of the Grasping while one does not know (how it is) this this is Haraam; it is lying upon Allaah.

Is it permissible for a person to call themselves or their child Al-Azeez (the mighty)? – Shaykh Saalih Muhammad al-Luhaydaan

Is it permissible for a person to call themselves or their child al-azeez (the mighty)?
Shaykh Saalih Muhammad al-Luhaydaan (May Allaah preserve him)
by SalafiEvents.com

Q.The individual is asking is it permissible for a person to call themselves or their child al-azeez (the mighty)?

A.The shaykh said this is that which a person should abstain from. It is that which a person should abstain from, as it is from the names of Allaah (azza wa ja’aal). However, if an individual is given the title of the azeez of Riyaadh or the azeez of Egypt, meaning the leader/king of Riyaadh or the leader/king of Egypt. This is a title so this is not a problem but this is not the name of the individual.

The Meaning of Allaahu Akbar!

http://salaf-us-saalih.com/2012/10/24/the-meaning-of-allaahu-akbar

Was ‘Eesaa ‘alaihissalaam Allaah’s Word? – Shaykh ibn Uthaymeen

Was ‘Eesaa ‘alaihissalaam Allaah’s Word?
Shaykh Muhammad ibn Saalih al ‘Uthaymeen

With regards to the description of ‘Eesaa ‘alaihissalaam being described as “His Word which He conveyed to Maryam”[1]  the Shaykh Muhammad ibn Saalih al ‘Uthaymeen rahimahullaah states:

Allaah applied the (term) “Word” to him because he ‘alaihissalaam was created by means of a word. So the hadeeth is not taken upon its apparent (literal) meaning, since ‘Eesaa ‘alaihissalaam was not a word because he used to eat and drink and pass urine and open his bowels. And all the (usual) human situations would occur to him.

Allaah, the Most High, states:

Indeed the example of ‘Eesaa with Allaah is just as the example of Aadam. He (Allaah) created him from dust then He said to him, “Be!” and he was. [Soorah aale ‘Imraan (3) aayah 59]

And ‘Eesaa ‘alaihissalaam was not the Word of Allaah because the Speech of Allaah is an Attribute existing with Him and not separate and distinct from Him.

As for ‘Eesaa, then he was a being separate and distinct from Allaah subhaanahu ; he would come and go and eat food and drink.
